Dispatch from Bangkok

And now... an exciting update LIVE from Bangkok, the centre of the current tumultuous political action! ...

Called my husband, who went to Bangkok for a meeting today, on his mobile about 5pm.

Me: How'd your meeting go?

He: Okay.

Me: Bangkok ok? Didn't get caught in traffic or a protest?

He: Nah.

Me: What time's your flight out?

He: Midnight.

Me: Bah! What are you doing now?

He: I'm at the airport.

Me: At the airport already? But you don't leave for another 7 hours!

He: Wanted to make sure I got out ok. I've got a new book. Kind of looking forward to it.

Me: Yeah? Yeah.

I'm rather jealous. You know you're social life's hit a new low when you're thinking that 7 hours alone in an airport lounge with a book sounds like a great idea.

Such is the Friday night excitement of working parents of two!

About Phuket

It's pronounced "pooh-ket", not "fuckit".
Its population is roughly 30% Chinese-Thai, 30% Malay Muslim Thai, 30% Buddhist Thai and an assortment of nutjobs and wackos such as myself.
It's a great place to come for holiday, but I'd rather you not because there's enough traffic here already, thank you very much.
It's a long way from Canada.
