Baby Snake Outbreak

>> Thursday, February 26, 2009

Our cat's been kept busy over the past week as it seems a batch (clutch? gaggle?) of baby snakes have hatched somewhere in our yard.

Every other day I see one or two of the wee wriggly creatures trying to make their way up our front steps, only to be thwarted and decapitated by our cat.

Not familiar with snake types but they appear to be a viper of some sort.

I call them the evil greens.

So far, none in the house yet!

But I wonder where the mama snake went...

A 'nest' of snakes...

We had loads during the low season, I killed about 8 snakes in our garden, nothing too big but snakes nonetheless - none in the high/dry season ... And yes, you have to wonder where mama is hiding!

About Phuket

It's pronounced "pooh-ket", not "fuckit".
Its population is roughly 30% Chinese-Thai, 30% Malay Muslim Thai, 30% Buddhist Thai and an assortment of nutjobs and wackos such as myself.
It's a great place to come for holiday, but I'd rather you not because there's enough traffic here already, thank you very much.
It's a long way from Canada.
